Judge Nixes Pa. County Official's Suit Against Colleagues

Law360, Philadelphia (December 3, 2012, 2:14 PM EST) -- A Pennsylvania federal judge ruled Thursday that Fayette County Commissioner Angela Zimmerlink had not pled sufficient evidence to back up allegations that her colleagues violated her civil rights by locking her out of decisions on contract awards, personnel moves and other county business.

U.S. District Court Judge Cynthia Reed Eddy granted summary judgment to Fayette County and her two fellow commissioners after ruling Zimmerlink, the lone Republican on the board, had not produced sufficient facts to substantiate her First Amendment retaliation and equal protection claims....
