Goodyear Must Fork Over $4.4M To Fired Lesbian

Law360, New York (November 12, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- A Seattle woman who claimed she was demoted and fired for complaining about alleged harassment she endured at Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. due to her sexual orientation has been awarded nearly $4.4 million.

In a decision handed down Thursday, a King County, Wash., jury awarded Melissa Sheffield more than $318,000 in lost past wages, more than $40,000 in lost and future benefits, and $4 million in emotional distress in a lawsuit filed against the company and her former supervisor, Randy Reich, The Seattle Times reported...
