House Dems Float Compounding Oversight Bill

Law360, New York (December 6, 2012, 6:25 PM EST) -- Two House Democrats on Wednesday introduced a bill that would require compounding pharmacies to register with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and to use compound-specific labeling, a move they said would prevent incidents like the recent fatal meningitis outbreak.

Reps. Rosa DeLauro, D-Conn., and Nita Lowey, D-N.Y., said their bill would “improve the failed regulatory framework currently governing compounding pharmacies.”
