Judge Greenlights Jackson Hewitt Kickback Claims

Law360, New York (November 12, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- A federal judge has refused to toss a putative class action against tax preparation giant Jackson Hewitt Inc. for allegedly receiving kickbacks from banks in return for recommending a financially unsound loan.

Linda Hunter, a former-Jackson Hewitt customer, filed the putative class action against the company on Oct. 30, 2006 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia.
