Judge Rejects Petition To Halt Raises For Philly Workers

Law360, Philadelphia (December 10, 2012, 2:32 PM EST) -- A Philadelphia judge Friday, in a one-page order without any accompanying explanation, denied a union president's request to stop raises given to 5,500 city employees because the awards were allegedly granted without proper public review.

Court of Common Pleas Judge Idee Fox’s order to reject the petition came just hours after the city filed a memorandum arguing that Michael Walsh, the head of a union representing supervisors across a number of Philadelphia departments and agencies, lacked standing to sue.
