Interior Approves Renewable-Friendly Utah Transmission Line

Law360, New York (December 10, 2012, 6:55 PM EST) -- The U.S. Interior Department on Friday gave PacifiCorp the green light to build a high-voltage power line stretching 170 miles across federal lands in central Utah, a project the agency said could offer much-needed transmission capacity to renewable energy facilities in the state.

U.S. Bureau of Land Management and U.S. Forest Service officials signed records of decision allowing PacifiCorp, which does business as Rocky Mountain Power, to construct and operate a single-circuit, 345-kilovolt transmission line through two national forests.
