EU Broadens Review Of Google, DoubleClick Merger

Law360, New York (November 13, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- Deciding that the merger could potentially hurt competition for online advertising revenue, the European Commission on Tuesday revealed that it had launched a full-scale antitrust investigation of Google Inc.'s proposed buyout of online advertising firm DoubleClick Inc.

The commission said that it would take the next 90 working days to review the $3.1 billion acquisition and plans to make a ruling by April 2.
