Contractor Admits Defrauding US, JPMorgan Over Iraq Cop Cars

Law360, New York (December 10, 2012, 7:19 PM EST) -- British contractor APTx Vehicle Systems Ltd. has agreed to plead guilty to conspiring to defraud the U.S. government and JPMorgan Chase & Co. for lying about a shipment of armored vehicles meant for use in Iraq, prosecutors said Monday.

APTx, which will plead to a single count of wire fraud conspiracy, will also pay a $1 million fine, federal prosecutors in Massachusetts said. APTx and related entities will also settle a related civil case by paying $2 million to the U.S.
