Australia to Release Recommendation on Business Method Patents in December

Law360, New York (November 20, 2003, 12:00 AM EST) -- Autralia's government is expected to release in December recommendations for handling intellectual property claims over business methods.

The Australian Advisory Council on Intellectual Property (ACIP) had been expected to release its findings to the federal government in June, but a government spokesman said the report is now expected to be released in December, ZDNet Australia reported.

The committee began reviewing applications for business method patents from the IT industry and legal interests in July 2002.
