Ft. Lauderdale Residents Sue Over Toxins

Law360, New York (November 14, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- Over 110 current and former Florida residents have sued the city of Fort Lauderdale for not notifying them that their neighborhood contained disease-causing toxins caused by an old municipal trash incinerator.

In a lawsuit filed late Friday in Broward Circuit Court, the group contended that officials of Fort Lauderdale knew about the toxins on the land but did nothing to eradicate them or inform residents of the dangers.
