US Slaps Sanctions On Iranian Nuclear Suppliers

Law360, New York (December 13, 2012, 10:40 PM EST) -- The U.S. government on Thursday said it has increased sanctions on Iran's nuclear proliferation networks by designating seven companies and five individuals as suppliers for the country's nuclear program.

The U.S. Department of the Treasury said the sanctions target the international procurement operations of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, Iran Centrifuge Technology Co. and the country's nuclear enrichment program.

The designations freeze any U.S. assets the sanctioned entities might have and prohibit any transactions with U.S. entities, according to the Treasury Department.
