USPTO Considers Small Patent Claims Court

Law360, New York (December 17, 2012, 7:27 PM EST) -- The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office on Monday filed a notice seeking comment on the development of a federal small claims proceeding for patent enforcement, asking the public to weigh in on the need for or issues relating to such a development.

The USPTO is seeking comment, within 90 days, on whether there is a need for a small patent claims proceeding, under what circumstances such a proceeding would be necessary and what features this proceeding should have.
