Law360, New York (January 3, 2013, 2:48 PM EST) -- The principal regulations governing pharmaceutical products (and the pharmaceutical profession) in the United Arab Emirates are set out in Federal Law No. 4 of 1983 as amended (the Pharmaceutical Law). Very broadly, the Pharmaceutical Law prohibits the:

engagement in the pharmaceutical profession in the UAE without a license issued by the UAE Ministry of Health (the MoH);

importation of pharmaceutical products except by licensed bodies; and

distribution of pharmaceutical products unless they have been registered with the MoH.
