Seller Of Fake Diabetic Test Strips Gets 5 Years Probation

Law360, Philadelphia (December 18, 2012, 6:35 PM EST) -- A Florida man received five years of probation Tuesday for launching a scheme to sell counterfeit diabetic test strips purchased from suppliers in China and England to pharmacies throughout the U.S. and for submitting false customs declarations on them.

A Pennsylvania federal judge also ordered Jacques Duplessis, 62, to pay more than $128,800 in restitution to victims including pharmacies that purchased the counterfeit products, in addition to a $2,000 fine.
