FERC Lets Midwest ISO Keep Grandfathered Contracts

Law360, New York (November 16, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission has allowed the Midwest regional transmission organization to continue grandfathering the electric service contracts that were established before it created a new open access tariff.

FERC on Thursday confirmed Midwest Independent Transmission System Operator Inc.'s compliance plan, which included grandfathering the older transmission contracts, after finding that it would not affect the region's electricity reliability.
