Judge Halts Discount Sales Of Upscale Designer's Perfume

Law360, Wilmington (December 20, 2012, 8:57 PM EST) -- The distributor for Diane Von Furstenberg’s line of perfumes must comply with a licensing agreement and stop selling the fragrances to discount retailers the fashion designer believes to tarnish her brand, a Delaware judge ordered on Thursday.

Vice Chancellor J. Travis Laster handed down a preliminary injunction barring the distributor, ID Beauty International Distribution Ltd., from peddling the weak-selling perfumes to the likes of T.J. Maxx, Marshalls or Overstock.com, according to an order filed in Delaware Chancery Court.
