PPL Seeks Pa. PUC Approval Of New $154M Power Lines

Law360, Philadelphia (January 3, 2013, 3:04 PM EST) -- PPL Electric Utilities Corp. asked Pennsylvania energy regulators Friday to sign off on nearly 70 miles of new high-voltage transmission lines in the state's Pocono Mountains region as part of a project expected to cost the company $154 million.

PPL asked the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission to approve two new transmission lines as part of its Northeast-Pocono Reliability Project, an initiative aimed at resolving projected service problems in a six-county portion of the state, and to grant the company eminent domain rights for the lines to...
