W&T Offshore To Pay $1M To End Water Pollution Case

Law360, New York (January 4, 2013, 2:10 PM EST) -- A Louisiana federal judge has approved a $1 million settlement by W&T Offshore Inc. after the company previously pled guilty to criminal Clean Water Act charges for several violations at one of its facilities, the U.S. Department of Justice announced Thursday.

Under the terms of the deal, greenlighted by U.S. District Judge Eldon E. Fallon, Houston-based oil and gas producer W&T will pay $700,000 in fines and $300,000 in community service payments and will submit to a three-year term of probation, including third-party environmental audits of...
