FTC Often Forces Fixes In Pharma Probes, Stats Show

Law360, New York (January 7, 2013, 7:15 PM EST) -- The Federal Trade Commission has taken enforcement action on nearly every pharmaceutical merger it has examined in depth since 1996, according to data the antitrust watchdog released Friday.

The FTC looked at 122 pharmaceutical markets during full horizontal merger reviews from 1996 through 2011, and 119 of those reviews led to some sort of antitrust challenge.
