Sierra Club Loses Bid To Halt Dominion Md. LNG Project

Law360, New York (January 4, 2013, 6:38 PM EST) -- A Maryland state judge said Wednesday that energy company Dominion Resources Inc. had the authority to construct a natural gas liquefaction project in Lusby under a 2005 agreement with the Sierra Club, squashing the organization’s demand that it discontinue the project.

Dominion plans to expand its existing Cove Point LNG import facility in a project estimated to cost between $2.5 billion and $3.5 billion. Circuit Court Judge James P.
