Guidant, ECRI Settle Dispute Over Pricing Service

Law360, New York (November 19, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- Medical device maker Guidant Corp. has settled a dispute with the ECRI Institute, a medical nonprofit, over whether ECRI could publish prices paid by hospitals for Guidant's devices, following a series of conferences last week.

The parties have agreed to keep the terms of the settlement confidential. Judge Katherine Gallagher of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania approved the settlement on Monday and dismissed the case with prejudice.

Guidant, a subsidiary of Boston Scientific, could not immediately be reached for comment....
