Former Pa. State Secretary Joins Personal Injury Firm

Law360, Philadelphia (January 8, 2013, 5:57 PM EST) -- Philadelphia-based personal injury firm Haggerty Goldberg Schleifer & Kupersmith PC has landed the former Pennsylvania secretary of state to serve as of counsel, the firm announced last week.

Pedro Cortes, the first confirmed Latino cabinet member as well as the longest serving secretary of state in Pennsylvania history, held the position between 2003 and 2010, under Gov. Edward Rendell. While holding the office, Cortes' responsibilities included the oversight of elections, campaign finance, corporate filings, and occupational and professional licensing.
