Personal Injury Firm Hits Rival With $2.2M Poaching Suit

Law360, Philadelphia (January 9, 2013, 5:15 PM EST) -- Philadelphia-based personal injury firm Haggerty Goldberg Schleifer & Kupersmith PC sued MacElree Harvey Ltd. for $2.2 million in legal fees in Pennsylvania state court Friday, contending that a MacElree attorney poached a plaintiff in a car accident case.

HGSK, formerly known as Weinstein Schleifer, alleges that attorney Leonard Rivera, who formerly worked for MacElree Harvey, interfered with the contract it had with Maria Fonseca, the plaintiff in the civil suit, when he persuaded her to shift her representation.
