Serta Should Ax Memory Foam Superiority Ads, NAD Says

Law360, New York (January 8, 2013, 3:26 PM EST) -- An advertising industry self-regulator on Monday recommended that Serta Inc. discontinue potentially misleading comparative performance advertisements regarding its iComfort Sleep System after those ads were challenged by competitor Tempur-Pedic Management, Inc.

The National Advertising Division, an investigative unit of the advertising industry's self-regulatory system administered by the Council of Better Business Bureaus, recommended Serta cut out claims associated with promotion of its advanced memory foam mattresses that suggest comparative superiority to Tempur-Pedic mattresses.
