Energy Cos. Urge FERC To Revise Data Sharing Rule

Law360, New York (January 8, 2013, 7:56 PM EST) -- Several energy companies on Monday urged the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to clarify a proposed rule requiring natural gas pipeline operators to share more data with electricity grids, warning the rule could clash with regulations that prevent them from limiting data disclosure to only a few market participants.

According to the submissions, made by MidAmerican Energy Holdings Co. and a coalition of several New England-area natural gas distributors, among others, the regulator must relieve industry concerns by making clear that the good-faith sharing of nonpublic information...
