Pa. Insurance Dept. Notches Record $31.4M In Actions In '12

Law360, New York (January 8, 2013, 6:09 PM EST) -- The Pennsylvania Insurance Department said Tuesday it collected nearly $18 million in fines and $13.4 million in restitution in 2012, which is a record amount for the agency as it beefed up enforcement action and benefited from multistate settlements.

In addition to routine enforcement or market conduct actions, Pennsylvania was the lead state in 10 multistate investigations involving insurance code violations last year, the agency said.
