Foreign Lawyers Would Be A Boon For Texas: Task Force

Law360, New York (January 11, 2013, 4:46 PM EST) -- A task force has recommended that the Texas Supreme Court allow lawyers educated abroad to practice law in the state, saying opening the state’s doors to foreign lawyers will help boost Texas’ position in the globalized economy.

The 14-member task force, called the Texas Supreme Court Task Force on International Law Practice, was established by the state’s high court in August 2009 to come up with possible amendments to licensing rules governing the admission of foreign-trained lawyers in Texas.
