GDF Suez, E.ON Pocket €2.6B In Slovak Gas Co. Sale

Law360, New York (January 15, 2013, 1:26 PM EST) -- GDF Suez SA and E.ON SE have both agreed to sell their stakes in a Slovak gas company to Czech investment firm Energeticky a Prumyslovy Holding for €2.6 billion ($3.5 billion), the parties said Tuesday.

Touting the deal as the largest investment made by a Czech firm in a foreign entity, EPH will pay €1.3 billion for each of the seller's 24.5 percent shares, snagging 49 percent control of Slovensky Plynarensky Priemysel AS. The Slovak government will retain the remainder of the company's shares.
