White House Pressed Again Over Doc Payment Sunshine Rule

Law360, New York (January 15, 2013, 8:22 PM EST) -- A coalition of consumer and health care advocacy groups on Monday urged the White House to approve a rule requiring drug and medical-device makers to disclose payments to doctors, increasing pressure on the administration to implement the long-delayed regulation.

According to the letter, signed by a collective of nearly 20 groups — including consumer groups Families USA and the AARP and the AFL-CIO — the Office of Management and Budget must stop dragging its feet and help protect patients by approving the Physician Payment Sunshine Act....
