Morgan Lewis, Nonprofit Strike Back At Sham Charges Suit

Law360, Philadelphia (January 15, 2013, 3:21 PM EST) -- Morgan Lewis Bockius LLP and a Philadelphia nonprofit accused of prompting sham criminal charges to be filed against a former employee swung back Wednesday, arguing that there was sufficient evidence that the employee stole from the nonprofit and that his claims do not hold up under Pennsylvania law.

In separate filings in Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas, Morgan Lewis and Philabundance attacked the claims made by Manuel Burgos, who earlier sued the nonprofit after he was fired and imprisoned for allegedly stealing gas cards. In December,...
