Qantas, Emirates Win Go-Ahead To Start Work On Alliance

Law360, New York (January 17, 2013, 12:13 PM EST) -- Australia's competition watchdog gave Qantas Airways Ltd. and Emirates Airline the green light Thursday to start implementing their planned alliance, a little more than a month after granting preliminary approval for the venture.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission gave the companies interim authorization to begin preparations for the collaboration, which is set to roll out in April. Once launched, the alliance will see the two airlines coordinate on pricing, sales and scheduling.
