Azerbaijan Locks In Legal Framework For $7B Pipeline

Law360, New York (January 18, 2013, 6:31 PM EST) -- Azerbaijan on Friday approved a legislative change that codifies its collaboration with Turkey on the planned $7 billion Trans-Anatolian Pipeline, which will carry natural gas from the Caspian Sea for eventual export to Europe.

President Ilham Aliyev and the government of Azerbaijan signed off on new laws that will allow for implementation of the intergovernmental project agreement that leaders from both host countries signed in June, according to a translated statement posted on the Azerbaijani president's website.
