DA Wants Bias Claims Barred At Pa. Justice's Trial

Law360, New York (January 18, 2013, 7:58 PM EST) -- The Allegheny County District Attorney's Office reportedly asked a Pennsylvania court Thursday to block suspended state Supreme Court Justice Joan Orie Melvin from raising bias allegations when she stands trial on campaign corruption charges.

The Allegheny County DA's Office filed charges against Justice Melvin in May, alleging that while serving as an elected Superior Court judge, she had ordered her judicial staff to work on her 2003 and 2009 Supreme Court campaigns.
