Visy Faces More Trouble As New Zealand Files Suit

Law360, New York (November 27, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- New Zealand's competition watchdog has sued two Visy Holdings Ltd. units for alleged price-fixing, just weeks after an Australian regulator slapped the parent packaging company with a record-setting penalty for the same misconduct.

The New Zealand Commerce Commission last week filed civil proceedings against the Australian firm's New Zealand-based subsidiaries, Visy Board (NZ) Ltd. and Visy Board Proprietary Ltd., along with three of their executives, accusing them of rigging the market for cardboard boxes.
