SEC Taps New Chief Of Market Intelligence Unit

Law360, New York (January 22, 2013, 6:04 PM EST) -- The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Tuesday named Vincente L. Martinez as chief of the agency’s Office of Market Intelligence, the specialized unit created in 2010 to collect and review thousands of tips, referrals and complaints about alleged fraud.

Martinez was an assistant director in the Office of Market Intelligence before leaving the SEC in 2011 to become the first director of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission’s whistleblower office. He will return to the SEC in February to begin his new role, the SEC...
