Pa. Bill Would Force State To Establish Insurance Exchange

Law360, Philadelphia (January 23, 2013, 3:19 PM EST) -- A group of Pennsylvania lawmakers introduced a bill Tuesday that would see the establishment of a state-run insurance exchange under the Affordable Care Act, just a month after Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett announced he would cede the responsibility to the federal government.

Sponsored by a group of Democrats in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in the wake of Corbett’s decision, the bill — known as the American Health Benefit Exchange Act — would be responsible for facilitating the purchase and sale of qualified health insurance plans...
