NJ Needn't Probe Bias Claim That Feds Tossed, Court Says

Law360, New York (January 23, 2013, 7:40 PM EST) -- The New Jersey Division on Civil Rights didn't have to conduct an independent investigation before closing the book on a discrimination claim that its federal counterpart had rejected, a state appellate court ruled Wednesday.

A two-judge appellate panel was weighing another attempt by Francis Cornacchiulo to revive claims that executives with his employer, Alternative Investment Solutions LLC, plotted to have the onetime senior vice president fired for purported poor performance after he was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and began suffering symptoms of the disease.
