Highmark Will Now Pay $1.6B To Acquire West Penn

Law360, New York (January 24, 2013, 5:22 PM EST) -- Highmark Inc. now plans to pay $1.6 billion to acquire West Penn Allegheny Health System Inc., according to updated regulatory filings, as the company's CEO on Thursday reaffirmed Highmark's commitment to building an affordable Pittsburgh-area health care network.
