WilmerHale Axed Atty Over Adoption Leave, $5M Suit Says

Law360, New York (January 24, 2013, 2:34 PM EST) -- A former WilmerHale attorney hit the firm with a $5 million gender bias and wrongful termination suit in Washington, D.C., court Thursday, claiming she was fired for taking legally protected adoption leave.

Former WilmerHale counsel Pamela Levinson says that in addition to her wrongful firing, the firm passed her up for promotion and reduced her bonuses because she was a middle-aged woman, and unlawfully altered her 401(k) retirement plan without her knowledge to avoid making contributions.
