Philly, Union Firefighters Settle Over Exam Notice

Law360, New York (January 25, 2013, 7:11 PM EST) -- The Philadelphia firefighters union on Friday withdrew a lawsuit alleging the city failed to provide the union adequate notice of upcoming fire battalion chief exams after both sides resolved the dispute.

The city and Local 22 settled the dispute just hours after the union sued the city seeking to postpone the exams amidst accusations that the city's alleged lapse meant four fire captains missed a chance to seek promotions.
