Pfizer Sues Wockhardt To Block Lyrica Generic

Law360, Washington (January 28, 2013, 2:46 PM EST) -- Pfizer Inc. and Northwestern University sued Wockhardt Ltd. in Delaware federal court on Friday in an effort to stop the generic-drug maker from gaining approval to sell a generic version of the blockbuster nerve pain drug Lyrica.

Mumbai, India-based Wockhardt filed an abbreviated new drug application to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to create its own version of the pregabalin oral solution, saying Northwestern's patent-in-suit is invalid or wouldn't be infringed by the generic competition.
