EU Wants New Quality Standards For Biofuels

Law360, New York (November 28, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- The European Union on Tuesday introduced possible changes to a nine-year-old fuel quality directive, which would add new quality standards for biofuels while giving companies more flexibility in how they cut their greenhouse gas emissions.

The European Parliament's environmental committee voted to amend the 1998 Fuel Quality Directive, which set standards of environmental specifications for petrol and diesel fuels for use in road and non-road mobile applications.
