EU Probes $4.2B Digital Mapmaker Deal

Law360, New York (November 29, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- Europe’s antitrust watchdog has launched an in-depth investigation into car navigation device maker TomTom NV's proposed $4.2 billion takeover of digital mapmaker Tele Atlas NV.

The European Commission said Wednesday that an initial market investigation had indicated that the proposed merger raises “serious doubts” with regards to vertical competition concerns.
