Fla. Gov. Scott Unveils Record $74B Budget Proposal

Law360, Miami (January 31, 2013, 8:26 PM EST) -- Florida Gov. Rick Scott on Thursday unveiled his proposed budget for the upcoming year, an unprecedented $74.2 billion package that supports a decrease in business taxes, boosts funding for the state's program to buy environmentally sensitive lands and promises 20 new state court judges.

Scott's 2013-14 budget, which dwarfs any other in Florida history, will increase education spending by $1.25 billion over last year's budget, including $2,500 raises for all public school teachers.
