Union Resolves NLRB Dispute Over Wal-Mart Protests

Law360, New York (January 31, 2013, 4:43 PM EST) -- The National Labor Relations Board and a retail workers union reached a settlement Wednesday to resolve Wal-Mart Stores Inc.'s claim that the union encouraged illegal picketing during busy holiday shopping.

The agreement puts to rest Wal-Mart's allegation that the United Food and Commercial Workers International Union used disruptive picketing in an effort to improperly force Wal-Mart to recognize it as a collective-bargaining representative.
