U.S. Resolves WTO Dispute With China

Law360 (November 29, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- The United States has settled a dispute before the World Trade Organization in which it accused China of paying illegal subsidies to manufacturers.

In a statement on Thursday, U.S. Trade Representative Susan C. Schwab said that China would eliminate its “WTO-prohibited subsidies” by Jan. 1.

“This outcome represents a victory for U.S. manufacturers, producers and their workers,” Schwab said.
