Barr Settles With FTC Over Warner Chilcott Pact

Law360, New York (November 29, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- A judge has approved a settlement between the U.S. Federal Trade Commission and drug maker Barr Laboratories, putting to rest the FTC's probe of the company's agreement with Warner Chilcott Ltd. to delay the entry of a generic version of Ovcon, Warner Chilcott's blockbuster birth control drug.

Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia signed off on the pact Tuesday.

In the deal, Barr agreed to refrain from entering into agreements with brand manufacturers that “unreasonably restrain competition.” It must...
