GOP Threatens To Compel FDA Compounding Pharmacy Docs

Law360, New York (February 4, 2013, 1:38 PM EST) -- House Republicans on Friday threatened to subpoena U.S. Food and Drug Administration documents related to a deadly meningitis outbreak blamed on a Massachusetts compounding pharmacy, accusing the agency of dragging its feet and hindering efforts at reform.

In a letter to FDA Commissioner Margaret Hamburg, GOP lawmakers on the House Energy and Commerce Committee complained that despite having had months to provide information, the agency has only produced inspection reports and correspondence involving New England Compounding Center that for the most part were already publicly available....
