Pie Shrinks For Bankruptcy Attorneys As Filings Drop Again

Law360, New York (February 4, 2013, 8:16 PM EST) -- The number of federal bankruptcy filings fell sharply for the second straight year in 2012, according to government data released on Monday, a drop that may reflect a credit lending market increasingly willing to risk capital on cash-starved companies.

During the calendar year of 2012, 1.22 million bankruptcies were filed in U.S. federal courts, compared to 1.41 million filings in 2011 and 1.53 million in 2010, according to report by the  Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts.
