Pa. Gov. Rejects ACA Medicaid Expansion, Calls For Reforms

Law360, Philadelphia (February 5, 2013, 5:03 PM EST) -- In a budget address to state lawmakers Tuesday, Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett said he would not pursue an expansion of Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act, saying the provision would end up costing the state an unaffordable $4.1 billion through 2021.

Corbett said the state would not pursue an expansion of its Medicaid program, which already made up nearly a third of Pennsylvania's general fund budget, until the federal government offered meaningful reforms to help reduce costs.
